My latest sing is tribute to my motherland: Akshada Bandekar
Akshada Bandekar, who is also preparing for her Board exams, has come up with a song that she has dedicated to Gons. “Golden Goa is about Goa and its people,” says the chirpy 15 year old.
While talking about her first original song in Hindi, Akshada says, “It’s my tribute to my motherland. My song talks about how warm its people are.” She says the reason for singing in Hindi this time was because she wanted to talk about Goa to all the people of India.”
The audio of the track was released last year.

It took over a year to make a video album on the song as Akshada got busy with her studies. The tenth grade student earlier sang a Konkani song Goem, a song about Goa. Goa figures significantly in most of her creative outpourings. Akshada who lives in says with a shrugs, “After all, Goa is an amazing place to be in.”
The four minute music video shot in a span of three days, has been shot in Keri and Dona Paula. The paean talks about Goa such as its identity, its language Konkani and food customs. For the song, Akshada has for the first time ridden a jet ski, an experience which she terms as ‘fun but scary.’
Understanding the importance of social network when it comes to promoting music, Akshada says she will release her song on You Tube today.
After answering her Boards, Akshada says she plans to work on a couple of English songs, which she has written. Till then, she says, “I am just concentrating on doing well in my exams.” Will she opt for medicine like her father and brother? She thinks hard, “I might just want to do engineering, just like my mother. I am interested in sound. Maybe one day, I will be able to set up my own music studio.”
